No Frozen Images

\nNo Graven Images!<\/p>\n
The words seem relics of ancient days
\nWhat meaning for men rocketing through space
\nUnraveling life`s mysteries?<\/p>\n
Who now carves statues calling them gods?
\nShades of worn out traditions and ancient rituals!<\/p>\n
Yet the Ten Words received in the Darkness by Moses
\nReflect revelation of what God wants
\nAnd the way life works.<\/p>\n
No graven image.<\/p>\n
These words are not about wood and stone but about <\/p>\n
Mindset and imagination
\nDon`t let an image of God freeze in place.
\nMake room for it to grow.<\/p>\n
So much greater than our minds can contain
\nGod grants us glimpses of Himself.
\nFreezing that glimpse into place distorts and twists
\nperception.<\/p>\n
No frozen images!<\/p>\n
Boldly shattering shackles of yesterday`s idea,
\nGod eludes traps in our tunnels of thought.
\nAs we conform our insights to logical ways,
\nGod laughs and shows another side of Himself.<\/p>\n
No frozen images!<\/p>\n
Sensing Him through our pain
\nFine tunes our radar, shriveling or
\nexpanding our souls.
\nSharing our pain frees Him to share His
\nPain with us
\nAnd we learn to call it Grace.<\/p>\n
No Frozen Images!<\/p>\n
Discovering the backside of God on mountain tops
\nCreates both despair and delight
\nYearning to see His face produces not maps but
\nHis presence as guide.<\/p>\n
By refusing to create Frozen Images, we find
\nOurselves on Mounts of Transfiguration.
